This 3-day Fes to Marrakech Desert tour is one of the best ways to experience authentic Morocco. You will journey from Fes to Marrakech through the Merzouga Desert. On the first day, we start our Sahara tour from Fes, often called Morocco’s cultural capital. We drive through Ifrane, known as Moroccan Switzerland for its special buildings and snowy winters. Our journey continues into Azrou Cedar Forest, home to friendly wild monkeys and the largest cedar forest in Africa. As we travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, we pass Berber villages surrounded by apple trees.
By afternoon, we arrive in the Merzouga Sahara Desert for a camel trek. Watch the sunset over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, the highest in North Africa. At night, relax in a desert camp and enjoy a Moroccan dinner with Berber music under the stars.
On the second day, we wake up to see the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and head to Dades Gorge. We pass Rissani and Tinghir, towns filled with history and culture. Our next stop is Todra Gorge, a tall canyon with great views and short walks along the river.
By evening, we arrive at Dades Gorge. Here, rugged mountains meet calm valleys to create beautiful scenery. We spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
On the final day we travel from Dades to Marrakech. Our route passes the Valley of the Roses, Skoura Oasis, and Kalaat Mgouna, famous for pink roses and a harvest festival in May. We then visit Ouarzazate, known for its film studios where movies like Game of Thrones were filmed.
